In Clancy's books, Klick (click??)  is used as a measure of distance.  What is a Klick???? Thanks, Ray

A click (klick) is 1 kilometer, or 1000 meters.

A military slang term, which I believe started with the Marines in the 1970's when the U.S. switched to the metric system.
