In the Time Zone page on this site there is this statement: "The time is taken from your browser". Could you share the code used to grab the user's time zone from her/his browser? Thanks!

It uses the JavaScript Date object.
Date.getTimezoneOffset() returns the offset from GMT
There are many more. Try searching a javascript site for them. Or view the source of the page. The code used is not hidden in anyway.
