How do you convert square meter to linear meter?
say 185 sq m is ? linear meter

We would need more information on what you are trying to do. There isn't a direct conversion between the two.
If you're working with lumber, it would depend on the width of the boards. Same with carpet, wallpaper, etc...

the floor boards would be 85 mm wide (12 mm thick)
i just want to know how many linear meters i need for a 185 sq meter floor area...

and oh yeah, the lenght would vary from 600 mm to 2300 mm

Area is Length * Width, so just divide area by the Width and you will end up with the linear meters. All the units need to match so convert millimeters to meters first.
185 / 0.085 = 2176.47 linear meters of lumber
