I need to know 140 square feet into yards 3 inches deep

Volume = Length * Width * Height
Area = Length * Width
Volume = Area * Height

You just need all of them in the same units, so convert 3 inches into feet first, and then the result will be cubic feet, which you will need to convert to cubic yards.

3 inches = 3/12 = 0.25 feet
140 square feet * 0.25 feet = 35 cubic feet
35 cubic feet / 27 = 1.296 cubic yards

So you will need 1.296 cubic yards of sand to cover 140 square feet of area, 3 inches deep.
