Conversion of thermal U value to R value

I need to onvert a thermal U value (conductance) of 0.24 Kcal/m2k or SI .279 W/m2k to equivilent English system 0.049 BTU/ft.2 hr F
for roof structure insulation. Can anyone help?

According to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, an R value is 1 square foot hour degree Fahrenheit per Btu (ft[sup]2[/sup]·hr·°F/Btu)
In SI terms that equals 0.17611 square meter kelvins per watt (m[sup]2[/sup]·K/W)
You would just multiply R value by 0.17611 to convert to m[sup]2[/sup]·K/W
