Decimal feet to standard help please

I have some blue prints written in decimal feet and I need to convert them to just standard US measurements so I can just use a standard tape measure. From what I am told its not as easy as just converting normal decimals to fractions.
anyone know how to convert it?

Decimal feet are in tenths, and standard tape measures are in sixteenths, eighths, fourths, etc.
Its not easy, but you can do as long as you don't need really exact measurements. There is no formula, you pretty much just need to look it up from a chart.
Here is a list of every fraction from 1/16 to 16/16 and its decimal equivalent. Just lookup the closest number and use that fraction.
0.0625 - 1/16
0.1250 - 1/8
0.1875 - 3/16
0.2500 - 1/4
0.3125 - 5/16
0.3750 - 3/8
0.4375 - 7/16
0.5000 - 1/2
0.5625 - 9/16
0.6250 - 5/8
0.6875 - 11/16
0.7500 - 3/4
0.8125 - 13/16
0.8750 - 7/8
0.9375 - 15/16
1.0000 - 16/16
