Do you know the formula for converting yardage to square feet?
Project: Leather Trousers.
Pattern calls for 2.5 yards of 45" wide fabric.
Leather is measured in square feet
How to convert?

The formula for area is:
Area = Length * Width
But first they all need to be the same basic units.
2.5 yard = 7.5 feet
45 inch = 3.75 feet
7.5 feet * 3.75 feet = 28.125 square feet
The main problem though, is your pattern seems to be expecting a specific width and length of leather. If you ask for 28.125 square feet you may get 7 feet by 4 feet or 5.6 feet by 5 feet, or any number of different possibilities. All equal the 28.125 square feet you need, but your pattern may need longer or wider than what you get.
I would try specifically asking for a 90 inch by 45 inch, just to make sure the piece is exactly what your pattern needs.
