I am trying to calculate the cubic yards needed to put 6" of material on 1 acre of land?

The formula is:
Volume = Area * Height

But first you need to convert them all to the same base units, for example, inches.

1 acre = 6,272,640 square inch
height = 6 inch

6,272,640 square inch * 6 inch = 37,635,840 cubic inch

You can now convert cubic inches to cubic yards on the Volume conversion page, or just divide by 46,656.

37635840 cubic inch = 806.666666666667 cubic yard

I'am trying to calculate the cube of a box that measures :  Length 15 3/4 inches  X   width   7  3/4 inches   X   height  10  5/8 inches  Thank you !

15 3/4 inches = 15.75 inches
7 3/4 inches = 7.75 inches
10 5/8 inches = 10.625 inches

15.75 inches * 7.75 inches * 10.625 inches = 1296.9140625 cubic inches

You can then convert cubic inches to whichever other unit you need on the Volume Conversion page here:
