CO2 partial pressure

CO2 partial pressure
by lee on 08/25/05 at 15:05:39

How can I convert CO2 (carbon dioxide) concentration given in p.p.m.v. (parts per million by volume) into CO2 partial pressure in atmospheres?

e.g. 270 ppmv = ????? atmospheres
Thank you.

There is some information here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Partial_pressure

You would need to know the total pressure then multiply that by the percentage of the CO2. You can calculate the percentage of CO2 assuming the main component is air.
