Square Feet to Tons

I'm trying to figue out the number of tons of 5" stone I need to go around my pond.  How do I convert the square feet to tons?

That is going to depend on the density of the stone. I searched but cound not find any data on 5" stone.

If the company you buy from has that data I could help with the conversion. But not without it.
