convert from square yards to tons

I need to convert from square yards of ashpalt needed to tons of asphalt needed.  The depth varies; I only have the total area of the "holes".  I also know that there are 110 pounds/square yard/inch of thickness.

You would need to know the depth.  Unless you can get an average depth.

Your density data requires the area in square yards and the depth in inches.
